In a continued effort to promote inclusivity, strengthen bonds with remote tribal populations, and foster a sense of national unity, the Indian Army organised a community interaction programme with members of the Gujjar and Bakkarwal communities at Balmatkote, a high-altitude village in Reasi district.
The outreach programme was part of the Indian Army’s broader initiative aimed at engaging with nomadic tribal groups living in far-flung and underdeveloped regions. These interactions are crucial for understanding the unique challenges faced by the tribal communities and for extending timely support through awareness, welfare services, and development-focused initiatives.
