Kartavya IAS Academy, Gandhinagar Jammu, under the visionary leadership of its Founder and Director Er. Dinesh Choudhary, marked the International Day of Art of Giving with a vibrant and meaningful celebration that brought together civil services aspirants, faculty members, and prominent dignitaries from diverse fields. The event was a heartfelt tribute to the values of compassion, kindness, and selfless service, and resonated deeply with the Academy’s mission of nurturing not only academically sound but also socially conscious citizens.
The International Day of Art of Giving is a global initiative conceptualized by renowned educationist and philanthropist Dr. Achyuta Samanta, the Founder of KIIT (Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology) and KISS (Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences) in Bhubaneswar. With the guiding philosophy of “giving is living”, the movement emphasizes the importance of empathy, generosity, and collective responsibility in building a more inclusive and compassionate society. The Art of Giving transcends all social and cultural barriers, advocating for a world driven by understanding and unity rather than competition and division.
The celebration at Kartavya IAS Academy was marked by a spirit of unity and reflection. Among the distinguished guests was Dr. Varun Suthra, President of Art of Giving Jammu & Kashmir and Vice President (International), Art of Giving Global. Dr. Suthra delivered an inspiring and thought-provoking keynote address that captivated the audience, especially the young civil service aspirants. He spoke at length about the significance of adopting the Art of Giving in our daily lives, particularly in today’s fast-paced and competitive environment, where empathy is often overshadowed by individual ambition.
Dr. Suthra narrated touching anecdotes from his experiences across different countries, illustrating how simple acts of kindness rooted in the Art of Giving philosophy have transformed communities and brought lasting joy to both givers and recipients. He urged the youth to make compassion a cornerstone of their personal and professional lives and to serve society not just as administrators but as empathetic leaders who understand the value of human dignity and social equity.
Er. Dinesh Choudhary, while addressing the gathering, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Achyuta Samanta for initiating such a transformative global movement.
He reiterated Kartavya IAS Academy’s unwavering commitment to holistic education that goes beyond textbooks and examinations. He emphasized that while academic excellence is essential for cracking competitive exams, it is equally important to cultivate a mindset of service, humility, and ethical leadership.

He also thanked Dr. Suthra for enlightening the students and faculty with his deep insights and global perspective.
The event concluded on a high note with all attendees taking a solemn pledge to uphold the values of kindness, compassion, and giving in their everyday lives. The participants vowed to spread the message of the Art of Giving not only in their immediate surroundings but also across wider sections of society, particularly in Jammu and its neighboring regions.
The celebration left a lasting impression on all those present, reminding them that true greatness lies not just in achieving personal success but in uplifting others and giving back to society. Through such initiatives, Kartavya IAS Academy continues to inspire a new generation of civil servants who are not only intellectually capable but also morally grounded and socially responsible.
