Dogra Group of Colleges celebrates Int’l Labour Day by honouring Support Staff

Dogra Group of Colleges celebrated International Labour Day with great enthusiasm and respect for the invaluable contributions of its dedicated support staff. The event, held on campus, was an occasion to honor and appreciate the hard work of the security staff, helpers, housekeepers, and drivers who ensure the smooth functioning of the institutions.
Dr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary of the Dogra Educational Trust, was the Chief Guest for the event. In his address, Dr. Charak spoke about the essential role of support staff in the overall success and growth of the institution. He acknowledged their sincerity, dedication, and hard work and motivated them to continue delivering their best.
As part of the celebration, Dr. Charak awarded cash prizes and souvenirs to the best performers of the year 2024-25. The awardees were selected based on their dedication and commitment to their duties. The best performers included Ramji Lal Sharma (Driver), Ashok (Security Guard), Rakesh (Helper), and Suman Devi (Housekeeping Staff).
In his speech, Dr. Charak also emphasized the need for proper training and mentorship to enhance the skills of the support staff, encouraging them to grow professionally and take pride in their work.
The event featured several awareness sessions designed to improve the well-being and knowledge of the staff. Suhani, NSS Coordinator of Dogra Law College, conducted an informative session on health and hygiene. Dr. Shefali Sharma, NSS Coordinator of Dogra College of Education, provided valuable insights on workplace behavior and etiquette. Additionally, Simran Thakur, NSS Coordinator of Dogra Degree College, led a session on waste management, focusing on sustainable practices in the workplace.
The event was also attended by distinguished members of the Dogra Group of Colleges, including Dr. Bela Thakur, Director of Dogra Group of Colleges; Dr. Dharamveer Sharma, Dean of Dogra Group of Colleges; Dr. Gitika Sehgal, Coordinator of Dogra Educational Trust; Dr. Jay Prakash Srivastava, Principal of Dogra Law College; Dr. Vikesh Sharma, Principal of Dogra College of Education; and Mr. Ramnik Bali, Programme Facilitator of Dogra Educational Trust.
The celebration concluded with the singing of the National Anthem, which further reinforced the sense of unity and pride in the contributions of the support staff, highlighting their vital role in the success and smooth functioning of the institution.
