KISHTWAR, APRIL 20: – Former Minister J&K, G. M Saroori urged authorities to provide adequate assistance and compensation to those affected by a cloudburst in Chenab Valley.
In his message, Saroori urged the authorities to ensure adequate assistance and compensation for those who suffered losses due to the cloudburst and lightening strikes that hit several areas of Ramban, Reasi and Kishtwar districts.
“Thankfully, there have been no casualties in the unfortunate incident. However, reports suggest that some buildings, including hotels, government offices, residential houses, have suffered damages due to the flash floods triggered by the cloudburst,” he said.
The senior leader said heavy rainfall has caused extensive damage to paddy fields, and several vehicles have become trapped in the resulting debris. “In this hour of grief, the administration must ensure all necessary measures are taken to support the victims of this natural calamity,” Saroori added.
Furthermore Saroori has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic road accident at Tagood area in Kishtwar district, which claimed the lives of two persons when a vehicle they were travelling fell into deep gorge. In his condolence message, Saroori termed the incident heartbreaking and extended his sympathies to the bereaved families. He prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls. “This tragedy is truly devastating. My thoughts and prayers are with the affected families. May the Almighty give strength to those who lost their loved ones,” Saroori said.
