Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Kumar Shavan convened a meeting with officers from the line departments to review and finalize the arrangements for the Ram Navmi festival.
Representatives from the Sanatan Dharma Sabha shared valuable suggestions regarding key aspects of festival preparations. They sought special provision for sanitation, electricity and water supply, traffic management and adequate availability of ration supplies.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the critical importance of maintaining cleanliness and hygiene during the festivities. He directed the concerned departments to actively promote sanitation efforts including lime lining at festive venues, especially in and around temples.
Additionally, the DC instructed officials to visit temples to assess the ground situation and ensure readiness.
The SSP was asked to make comprehensive security arrangements at temples across the district to ensure the safety of the devotees.
The meeting also underscored the need for seamless interdepartmental coordination to facilitate smooth festival celebrations.
The Jal Shakti and Power Development Department (PDD) was asked to take all necessary measures to provide seamless services.
The Executive Engineer PDD was tasked with ensuring proper lighting arrangements in addition to consistent power supply.
Tehsildar Kishtwar was instructed to monitor the rates and quality of food items sold during the festival through regular market checks.
The Health Department was directed to make adequate provisions for medical facilities, including the deployment of medical staff, to handle any emergency situations.
The meeting also discussed arrangements for foolproof traffic management during festive processions, stage settings, and other safety measures. Relevant directions were issued to concerned authorities to ensure comprehensive preparedness.
The meeting was attended by senior officials, including SSP Javed Iqbal; ADC Pawan Kotwal; CEO KDA Rishi Kumar Sharma; ACR Idrees Lone; AD Food Shafqat Keen; EO Municipality Mirza Mumtaz Iqbal; Tehsildar Nirbhay Sharma, ARTO Tasleem Wani, Executive Engineers from PWD and Jal Shakti, AD Fire & Emergency, along with representatives from Traffic and other line departments, and members of Sanatan Dharma Sabha Kishtwar.
