Demonstrating his commitment to communal harmony and grassroots development, Col Mahan Singh (Retd), DDC Chairman Kathua, conducted an extensive tour of various Panchayats in the Basohli Sub-District. During his visit to Plakh, Draman, Hutt, Janu, and Sandhar, he engaged with local communities and reviewed ongoing developmental projects.
Emphasizing the spirit of unity and brotherhood, Col Mahan Singh visited the Muslim Bastis of Khajura, Hutt, and Marta to personally extend Eid-al-Fitr greetings to the Muslim brethren. He highlighted the significance of fostering peace and harmony among different communities, reinforcing the cultural ethos of the region.
In addition, the DDC Chairman paid obeisance at the revered Kali Mata Mandirs at Hutt and Patera, where he participated in the festivities and interacted with hundreds of devotees who had gathered for darshan. His presence at these sacred sites underlined his unwavering respect for the spiritual traditions of the area.
Accompanied by Madhu Bala, Sarpanch of Draman; Dhrub Singh, a prominent social activist; and Bandna Devi, Coordinator of Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Col Mahan Singh also undertook a comprehensive review of various development works under the Capex Budget in Slowa, Khajura, Mashka, Hutt, Darkodi, Danna, and Gadodi villages.
He conducted on-ground inspections and engaged with residents to assess the effectiveness of ongoing projects and to understand their grievances firsthand.
Interacting with villagers, he reiterated his commitment to ensuring holistic development and better infrastructure in the region. He assured the public that their concerns regarding road connectivity, water supply, healthcare, and education would be taken up on priority with the concerned authorities.
