India’s U-17 girls produced another commanding display at the Asian Boxing U15 & U17 Championships 2026, confirming 12 medals with a series of dominant victories in Tashkent on Thursday. The strong performances highlighted India’s growing strength and depth in youth boxing as the contingent continued its impressive run at the continental event. The Indian boxers delivered several one-sided victories across weight categories, with many bouts ending through referee stoppages, reflecting the team’s superiority in the ring. The results further reinforced India’s reputation as one of Asia’s emerging powerhouses in junior and youth boxing competitions.
Leading the charge for India was Rakhi in the 46kg category. She produced a composed and technically strong performance to secure a unanimous 5-0 victory over her opponent from Chinese Taipei. Rakhi controlled the contest from the opening round and maintained her dominance throughout the bout to advance comfortably. In the 48kg division, Khushi delivered one of the most emphatic performances of the day. She overwhelmed her Korean opponent with aggressive attacking boxing and secured a first-round Referee Stops Contest (RSC) victory, ending the bout in dominant fashion. Her quick victory gave India strong momentum early in the day’s proceedings. Mamta continued India’s winning run in the 52kg category with another commanding display. Facing a boxer from Jordan, she maintained relentless pressure before sealing a Round 2 RSC victory. Her sharp combinations and ring control proved too strong for her opponent. India’s dominance continued in the middle-weight divisions as Laxmi, competing in the 54kg category, secured a third-round RSC win against Mongolia. Navya then added another victory for the Indian contingent with a clinical 5-0 triumph over a Chinese boxer in the 57kg category. Navya’s disciplined approach and tactical superiority ensured complete control throughout the contest.
Ishika also impressed in the 60kg division, defeating her Mongolian opponent through a second-round RSC victory. Her aggressive approach and consistent scoring punches allowed her to close out the contest decisively. The Indian team maintained its dominance in the heavier weight categories as well. Harnoor, competing in the 66kg division, secured a first-round RSC victory against a boxer from Chinese Taipei. Himanshi followed with another first-round RSC win in the 70kg category, again against Chinese Taipei, as India continued to produce one-sided results across multiple divisions.
