jammu, May 1
Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Health Minister Bali Bhagat on Friday expressed strong confidence in the party’s performance in the ongoing Assembly elections, referring to recent exit poll trends that indicate a favourable outcome for the BJP across several states. He said that the projections reflect a growing public trust in the leadership and policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Reacting to the latest exit poll data, Bhagat stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party is heading towards a decisive and convincing victory, particularly in key states where the party has focused extensively on governance, development, and welfare-oriented delivery systems. He added that the emerging trends clearly show that voters have once again placed their faith in the BJP’s vision of development and good governance.
According to Bhagat, multiple exit polls have suggested that the BJP and its allies are gaining ground in several regions of the country. He highlighted that the party is expected to maintain a strong position in Assam, while also emerging with a competitive edge in West Bengal. Some projections have even indicated a possible surge for the BJP in West Bengal, which he described as a significant political development.
He attributed these trends to the central government’s pro-people policies, infrastructure development initiatives, and transparent governance model. Bhagat said that citizens across the country have responded positively to schemes focused on welfare delivery, economic growth, and improved public services. He further claimed that voters have increasingly rejected dynastic and divisive politics in favour of stability and development-oriented leadership.
The senior BJP leader stated that the party’s consistent focus on national security, welfare schemes, and inclusive development has resonated with all sections of society. He remarked that while the ruling party has worked on strengthening governance and delivery mechanisms, opposition parties have failed to present a credible or unified alternative to the electorate.
Taking a critical view of opposition parties, including the Indian National Congress, Bhagat alleged that they have begun questioning exit poll projections even before the announcement of final results. He said that such reactions indicate a lack of confidence and are part of a pattern of preparing excuses in anticipation of electoral outcomes.
He further emphasized that the Bharatiya Janata Party’s organisational strength and deep-rooted grassroots presence have played a crucial role in shaping voter sentiment across the country. He noted that the party’s structure, ranging from booth-level workers to national leadership, has worked tirelessly throughout the election process, and the results, he said, would reflect this sustained effort.

Bhagat also appealed to party workers to remain confident but grounded, reminding them that while exit polls provide an indication of trends, the final verdict lies solely with the people. He expressed optimism that the actual results would be even more favourable for the BJP than what the exit polls suggest.
Exit polls released after the conclusion of voting across multiple states have indicated a mixed but largely positive outlook for the BJP, with projections suggesting retention of power in Assam and significant gains in other regions. These trends, according to party leaders, further reinforce the political momentum the BJP has been witnessing in recent electoral cycles.
