The recent incident of severe cloudburst in Kishtwar region has deeply shocked many families. Many people were injured in this devastating disaster, many lost their lives and many families are forced to wander from door to door after becoming homeless. In such difficult times, Sewa Bharti Jammu-Kashmir Ladakh and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh volunteers are engaged day and night in relief and rehabilitation work.
Langar service is being run continuously in the morning, afternoon and evening for the affected families in the affected areas. Along with this, arrangements for tea and water, distribution of essential ration material to the families and school kits (bags, copy-books etc.) are being made available for the children, so that even in adverse circumstances, the morale of the children remains high and they can continue their studies.
Similarly, Seva Bharti is also providing three meals a day to the patients admitted in Jammu Medical College and their attendants. Apart from this, every possible help is being provided to fulfill their other daily needs.
Sewa Bharti and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh workers are actively engaged in disaster relief work not only in Kishtwar but also in helping the families affected by the recent disaster in Kathua district.
It is noteworthy that the ambulance services of Sewa Bharti Jammu-Kashmir Ladakh, which include ambulances from Kishtwar, Doda, Balesa and Ramban districts, are continuously engaged in relief work. Through these ambulances, the injured were taken to safe places and hospitals, the bodies of the dead were shifted and immediate medical facilities were provided to the disaster-affected people.
Sewa Bharti and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh have once again proved that whenever any disaster strikes in Jammu-Kashmir, the volunteers of these charitable organizations of the society are the first to come forward and serve the suffering humanity.
