Secretary RDD releases Manzoor Ul Haq’s Gojri Book “Adhritho Sach” at JKAACL

Secretary Rural Development Department and Panchayati Raj, Mohammad Aijaz Asad, today released Gojri book ‘Adhritho Sach’, authored by Manzoor Ul Haq Kalaivi, at an impressive function organized by the Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages (JKAACL) at K L Saigal Hall.
DIG, CID Mohammad Irshad; SSP Railways Shalinder Singh; eminent writer Khalid Hussain; Secretary JKAACL, Harvinder Kour and Divisional Head and Chief Editor JKAACL, Dr. Javaid Rahi shared the presidium.
In his presidential address, Aijaz Asad praised Adhritho Sach as a significant literary work that encapsulates tribal life stories, shedding light on the migratory culture, struggles of tribal women and other socio-cultural challenges faced by the tribal community. He commended the author for his efforts and appreciated JKAACL for organizing such purposeful literary events. He urged upon the Gojri writers to actively contribute towards documenting tribal languages and cultures.
Harvinder Kour emphasized the importance of the Gojri language in the Union Territory and highlighted JKAACL’s ongoing efforts for its promotion and preservation. She reiterated the Academy’s commitment towards supporting Gojri literature and culture.
Mohammad Irshad lauded the linguistic richness of the book, describing it as a valuable treasure trove of Gojri vocabulary. Reflecting on his long association with the author, he noted that the book captures significant life experiences that now form an integral part of Gojri literature.
SSP Railways, Shalinder Singh, spoke on the thematic depth of the book, which primarily revolves around issues of poverty, societal pressures and human emotions reflecting the concerns of the author.
Dr. Javaid Rahi highlighted that the primary objective of the event was to provide a platform for the Gojri language and to showcase the creativity of its writers. He noted that Adhritho Sach comprises 22 short stories, each portraying the ethos of tribal culture and heritage.
Eminent writer Khalid Hussain discussed the techniques of short story writing, affirming that the book meets all literary standards and is a valuable addition to Gojri literature.
Prominent scholars including Professor M. K. Waqar, Dr. Shahnawaz, Maqsood Hussain, Shazia Chowdhary and Kalsoom Chowdhary, presented their research papers on the book offering in-depth analyses of its themes and literary significance.
The event was conducted by Naseem Akhter, Gojri writer.
