In a decisive move, the District Administration Doda has launched a comprehensive awareness campaign to educate people about the urgency of combating the menace drug abuse. The initiative is spearheaded by the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Harvinder Singh. This multi-departmental endeavor being led by the Social Welfare and the School Education Departments features weekly Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) awareness camps. The camps are held every Monday across all 237 Panchayats of the district, engaging the public through informative discussions led by designated teachers and officials.
Today, numerous IEC camps were successfully conducted, initiating a meaningful dialogue among students, local residents, and officials about the harmful effects of drug abuse. Participants were sensitized about the social, psychological and health-related consequences of substance abuse, reinforcing the importance of community vigilance and proactive measures. The campaign aims to create a well-informed society that actively works towards drug prevention and rehabilitation. With robust support from local leaders, educators, and the community, the initiative is gaining momentum and is expected to expand further in the coming weeks. The District Administration Doda urges all stakeholders, including parents, teachers, and youth, to join hands in this collective fight against drug abuse, ensuring a healthier and safer future for Doda District.
