Dogra Sadar Sabha J&K celebrated the birth anniversary of Pt. Prem Nath Dogra, a distinguished leader and visionary who played a pivotal role in shaping the socio-political landscape of Jammu and Kashmir. Born on 24th Oct. 1884 at village Smailpur (Samba), his legacy continues to inspire generations.
The function was started with garlanding the statue of Sher e Duggar, Pt Prem Nath Dogra by Th. Gulchain Singh Charak, Former Minister and President of Dogra Sadar Sabha J&K in the Sabha Bhawan premises and offering of floral tributes by the prominent members of the Sabha present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Sh Charak dwell on life and times of Pt. Prem Nath Dogra , a stalwart of the Jammu and Kashmir movement, advocating for the rights and welfare of the people. As a founder of thePaja Parishad and Bharatiya Jana Sangh in the region, his commitment to democratic values and social justice particularly to the service of the downtrodden,poor and dalits was unwavering. He dedicated his life to the upliftment of marginalized communities and worked tirelessly to ensure their voices were heard. He also vigorously campaigned for total integration of Jammu and Kashmir with India.
“We remember Pt. Prem Nath Dogra ( Sher e Duggar,) not only for his political achievements but also for his deep sense of compassion and community service,” said Sh. Charak. “His vision for a united and progressive Jammu and Kashmir remains relevant today.” We are honoring a leader whose principles of integrity and dedication continue to resonate, added the former minister.
The event concluded with singing of National Anthem and distribution of sweets among the members.
