J&K Dharmarth Trust today celebrated the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi with great devotion at the Shri Raghunathji Temple.
Ashok Kumar Sharma (IPS Retd), Secretary of the Trust, performed the traditional Puja Archana of Bhagwan Ganesh at the Ganesh Ji Temple situated within the temple premises.
Accompanied by Temple priests and a gathering of devotees, the Secretary offered prayers for peace, prosperity, and harmony in the Union Territory. He emphasized the significance of Lord Ganesha, revered as the embodiment of wisdom and the remover of obstacles. “This festival provides an opportunity to seek the blessings of Lord Ganesha for a harmonious, obstacle-free life,” he said.
The Secretary further mentioned that the temple houses a Grand Idol of Lord Ganesha which is similar to the revered Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai. “Those who cannot travel to Mumbai can now offer their prayers and seek blessings right here at Shri Raghunathji Temple,” he added.
The Head Priest of Shri Raghunathji Temple elaborated on the spiritual importance of Ganesh Chaturthi, emphasizing that the festival serves as a reminder of the values of faith, unity, and devotion. He noted that the ten-day-long celebration fosters a sense of community and shared joy, bringing devotees together in the spirit of spirituality and reverence.
The festival will continue with various religious ceremonies and rituals over the next several days, inviting devotees from across the region to partake in the celebrations.
