In commemoration of its illustrious 75-year history, the National Defence Academy (NDA) is orchestrating a series of events, symbolizing its pivotal role in molding the future leaders of the Indian Armed Forces.
Aligned with the theme “Forging Joint Military Leadership,” the NDA has undertaken a significant aerial expedition. This expedition involves X-Country flying on Super Dimona aircraft by cadets and officers of the academy to three pre-commissioning training academies.
Notably, the legs to the Indian Military Academy (IMA) and the Air Force Academy (AFA) have already been successfully completed.
On December 6, 2023, two Super Dimona aircraft, integral to the training of future Indian Air Force pilots at the NDA, took off with cadets on board for a cross-country flying expedition to the Indian Naval Academy at Ezhimala. The expedition spanned three days, covering a total distance of 2000 kilometers and passing through key locations such as Kolhapur, Goa, Mangalore, and Kannur before culminating at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala.
This initiative goes beyond celebrating the rich 75-year history of NDA in shaping military leaders. It underscores the significance of jointmanship in influencing the future of the Indian Armed Forces. The National Defence Academy remains unwavering in its commitment to its mission of training and nurturing leaders who will continue to serve the nation with honor and distinction.
The aerial expedition not only showcases the technical prowess and capabilities of the cadets but also symbolizes the collaborative efforts and unity among different branches of the armed forces.
