There is good news for the people of about 150 villages in both the Kathua and Samba districts. After thirty years, the border bus service of SRTC has started again on the Jammu-Kathua old route. These buses will run from Kathua and Jammu, Jammu via Samba, Mawa, Rajpura, Sherpur, Chakra, Sanjhi Mor, Hariya Chak, Kot Punnu, Nagri to Kathua. So now employees, children and other people going from the region to Jammu and Kathua will get a lot of relief, who had to travel 10 km in a minibus before going to the cities.
Due to the efforts of District Development Council (DDC) member Hiranagar Abhinandan Sharma, thirty years old demand of the people has been fulfilled. On Wednesday, Abhinandan Sharma flagged off the bus from the main square of Sanjhi Mod town to Jammu.
On this occasion, DDC member Abhinandan Sharma said that once upon a time, buses used to ply on the Samba-Kathua border road, which was closed due to the poor condition of the road and the lack of a bridge over the drains flowing on it. Now the government has got the bridges constructed and the expansion of the old route. However, because of the demand of the area’s people, two SRTC buses have been started at present. With the start of the bus service, people of about 150 border villages of Kathua and Samba districts will get the facility of commuting.

Employment opportunities will also increase due to buses passing through the villages. Moreover, farmers will be able to sell milk, vegetables and other products by taking them to cities. If buses run on this route till Pathankot, then people of dozens of villages of Punjab will also get the facility of commuting.
