Sagar Dattatray chairs review meeting on Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan in Doda

A comprehensive review meeting to assess progress on the 100-day campaign under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, launched by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on April 11, 2026, was successfully conducted at DC Office Complex, Doda.
The meeting was chaired by District Mentor for the campaign, Sagar Dattatray Doifode, Special Secretary, Agriculture Production Department, J&K.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Doda Krishan Lal, SSP, ADC, DPO ICDS, ACD, SE PWD (R&B), SE Jal Shakti, DFO, Joint Director Education, CPO, ACP, Principals of GDC Doda, Bhaderwah, Kastigarh and Thathri, along with other district officers who participated both physically and virtually.
During the meeting, the Special Secretary conducted a detailed review of the departmental action plans, ongoing activities and achievements under the campaign. He was informed that the cases of drug addiction among the students in educational institutions were negligible. He asked for maintaining strict vigilance over the dreaded social evil.
The Special Secretary also interacted with the SDM Thathri and college principals to assess the ground-level situation and gather feedback.
The Health Department presented data on registered drug-affected patients while the need for establishing dedicated de-addiction centres in the district was strongly emphasized. Various departments highlighted the awareness initiatives, outreach programmes and community participation under the campaign.
The Deputy Commissioner presented a detailed overview of district-level activities through a comprehensive presentation, including a phase-wise action plan and schedule of the campaign. He informed that district police had taken effective measures against the drug abuse and trafficking.
Various departments including Education, Health, Rural Development, Social Welfare, Higher Education, Agriculture, Labour, ICDS, Forest and Sports shared their initiatives.
The Sports department highlighted the efforts to engage youth in constructive activities while ACD Doda reported intensive awareness drives at the Panchayat level and successful destruction of cannabis crops in the identified areas. It was also informed that no drug-related cases had been reported from Panchayats, so far.
The Special Secretary issued key directions to further strengthen the campaign, stressing mass awareness involving the religious leaders, community stakeholders, and grassroots workers, particularly Anganwadi staff. He emphasized strengthening the counselling services, strict monitoring of medical shops through CCTV surveillance and submission of weekly reports on drug sales.
The SSP Doda was directed to take stringent action against the drug peddlers, including dismantling networks and exploring legal measures in serious cases.
Special focus was laid on vulnerable areas such as Kahara and Thathri for intensified monitoring.
