Chairman DDC Kulgam presides over closingceremony of Hindi Pakhwada at JNV

KULGAM, Sept 30
District Development Council, DDC, Chairman Kulgam, Mohammad Afzal Parrey, today presided the closing ceremony of Hindi Pakhwada at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, (JNV), Kulgam.
On the occasion, he distributed sports kits of cricket, badminton, and volleyball equipments along with certificates and prizes among students who excelled in various competitions during the fortnight-long celebrations.
Students who represented the institution at the national level were also honoured, including Bazila Baksh, who represented JNV in the National Volleyball Championship held at JNV Rajkot, Gujarat for the Regional Games.
In his address, Parrey highlighted the importance of Hindi as a language that acts as a bridge between different regions of the country.
He added that Hindi is now being taught across the world, and expressed happiness that the students of JNV are actively learning and promoting it.
At the same time, he underlined the significance of one’s mother tongue, stressing that it should be equally respected and preserved.
Chairman lauded the achievements of the students and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence in academics, sports, and cultural activities.
He further assured his continued support for youth development and extracurricular initiatives in the district.
Responding to a demand, he also assured that a high-mast light would soon be installed in the Vidyalaya premises.
Principal JNV Kulgam, Ratheesh Kumar, expressed his gratitude to the Chief Guest for his encouragement and acknowledged the dedicated efforts of staff and students.
He highlighted that Hindi Pakhwada, celebrated from September 14 to September 29, witnessed enthusiastic participation, making it a remarkable and memorable event.
Among the dignitaries present on the occasion were Station House Officer Kulgam Subzar Ahmad, Inspector Manzoor Ahmad, Shabir Ahmad Parry, JSA, and Dr. Samiya Husain, TGT Physical Education & Sports Incharge.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and appreciation for the collective efforts that contributed to the successful celebration of the event.
