Students from Kupwara, Kashmir Meet Prez of India on Raksha Bandhan

In a moment of great pride for Jammu & Kashmir, two bright students from Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs) in Kupwara district had the esteemed opportunity to meet the Hon’ble President of India during the Raksha Bandhan celebrations held at Rashtrapati Bhavan and represented Kashmir Division.
Rumaisa Ahad from KGBV Kuligam (Lolab) and Taqweem Qureshi from KGBV Hafrada were part of the special delegation, accompanied by teacher, Mr. Irfan Ashraf. The students represented the spirit and potential of young girls from remote areas of Kashmir.
During the enriching interaction, the Hon’ble President emphasized the significance of environmental stewardship, encouraging the students to actively participate in plantation drives and spread awareness on sustainability. The conversation left a lasting impact on the young minds.
Following the interaction, the delegation was hosted for a light lunch at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The visit also included educational tours to the Prime Ministers’ Museum and the National Science Museum, offering the students a unique blend of historical, scientific, and cultural learning.
This memorable experience has not only inspired the students but also highlighted the importance of inclusive opportunities for youth across the country.
