The Composite Regional Centre (CRC), Jammu (Samba)-PDUNIPPD, New Delhi under DEPWD, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MOSJE), Govt. of India, in collaboration with PDMK, successfully conducted an Assessment-cum-Distribution Camp aimed at supporting individuals with deafness and aphasia. The event witnessed active participation from 30 beneficiaries, who were assessed and provided with hearing aids as per the eligibility criteria. The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Rohnika Sharma, Director, CRC Jammu, who extended warm greetings to the attendees and offered guidance on the assessment process. The Director also briefed the beneficiaries about the necessary documentation required to avail hearing aids, including UDID Card, BPL Ration Card, and Aadhar Card.
Following the address, the assessment session was conducted by two experts: Dr. Devedika Padha, CRC Jammu and Dr. Hasnain Khan, PDMK, Jammu. The team thoroughly evaluated each case to ensure suitability for assistive devices.
Upon successful assessment, 21 hearing aids Costing Rs. 1,89,000.00 were distributed to beneficiaries who met the criteria. The camp concluded with refreshments served to all participants, ensuring a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere throughout the day. This initiative reflects the ongoing commitment of CRC Jammu and its partners to empower persons with disabilities by enhancing their accessibility to essential aids and services.
