jammu, Apr 19
Senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Raman Suri on Saturday said that the recent demolition of a drug peddler’s property in Jammu sends out a strong and unambiguous message to those involved in drug peddling and smuggling that the administration led by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha is operating with a policy of zero tolerance against narcotics.
Raman Suri said the action is a clear indication that those profiting from the destruction of society, especially the youth, will no longer be spared and that their illegal assets will be dismantled without hesitation. Referring to the demolition carried out in Belicharana, where the property of a known drug peddler was razed under heavy security, Suri said such actions are not isolated but part of a larger and more decisive strategy to dismantle the entire network of drug trafficking.
He emphasized that the ongoing 100-day ‘Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan’ is a targeted and time-bound offensive aimed at uprooting the menace from its very foundation, including the financial structures that sustain it. Suri warned those involved in the illegal trade to treat this as a final warning and immediately mend their ways, stating that the coming days will witness an intensified crackdown that will leave no room for drug mafias to operate.
He said Jammu will not be allowed to become a hotspot for drug peddlers under any circumstances and that the administration has demonstrated its intent through strong and visible action on the ground.
According to him, the message is loud and clear that there will be no safe havens for those indulging in such unlawful activities.
Expressing concern over the impact of drugs on society, Suri said that the region cannot afford to let its children and especially the younger generation fall prey to this dangerous menace.
He noted that society has already suffered significant losses due to drug abuse and that the time has come for strict and uncompromising measures to eradicate it completely. He reiterated that the ongoing campaign marks a turning point in the fight against drugs and assured that such actions will continue until the menace is fully eliminated from Jammu Kashmir.
