As part of its ongoing efforts to empower local communities and enhance skill development, the Indian Army has conducted a Carpentry Cadre for the Gujjar and Bakkarwal youths at Thillu from 16 December 2024 to 30 January 2025 under Operation Sadbhavana. This initiative aimed to provide specialized training in carpentry, equipping participants with essential woodworking skills that will enhance their employability and promote self-reliance. The cadre included hands-on training in furniture making, wood carving, repair work, and the safe handling of carpentry tools, guided by expert instructors. Through Operation Sadbhavana, the Indian Army continues its commitment to the socio-economic development of remote and underprivileged communities. This training program is a step towards creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for the Gujjar and Bakkarwal youths, fostering self-sufficiency and improving their quality of life.
