MLA Jasrota Rajiv Jasrotia today laid the foundation stone of the Water Supply Scheme at Panchayat Borthain South under Central government’s prestigious flagship programme “Jal Jeevan Mission. The project, estimated to cost Rs 10 crore, will include 500000-gallon capacity Rapid Sand filtration plant and Reservoirs aiming to benefit a population of around 15000 souls of Panchayat. With the commencement of this project, the water shortage issue in the area is expected to be mitigated to a considerable extent. The project is a significant milestone in the government’s efforts to provide clean drinking water to every household, as envisioned under the Jal Jeevan Mission. The mission aims to provide tap water supply to all rural households, ensuring drinking water security and improving the health and well-being of people in rural areas.
While laying the foundation stone ceremony, MLA Jasrotia was accompanied by PHE XEN ,AEE, Mandal Pradhan Jasrota Balwant Singh , Sarpanch Shiv Dev Singh, Bhavishan Sharma , Randeep Singh Pappy, Sarpanch Kumar Manglam , Sarpanch Prithpal Singh, Sarpanch Raj Kumar , Panch Vinod Kumar ,Ravi Abrol , Co – Convenor BJP Refugee Cell Vidya Sagar , Nagri Municipal Committee Chairman Anil Singh , Sardari Singh ,Gandharb ,Saddam Hussain, Mandal Pradhan Logate Mandal Surinder Singh.
Speaking on the occasion, Jasrotia said that the Water Supply Scheme was the long pending demand of the area and asserted that the project will be completed within the set deadline.He also said that Union government is working on a mission mode taking along the aspirations of the locals to secure for them a prosperous life where all the demands are fulfilled in a time bound manner. Regarding the drinking water supply, he said it is a service delivery, wherein the quantity, quality of water supplied and periodicity of water supply has to be ensured for which the flagship programme, Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) is under implementation. The objective of the Mission is universal coverage i.e. every family in the village gets tap water connection in their household.
Meanwhile, MLA Jasrotia also addressed the gathering on the occasion which was also addressed by Union Minister Dr Jatinder Singh through virtual mode during which residents of the area thanked PMO and MLA for laying the foundation stone of this water supply scheme for them. They said the locals were facing immense hardships in the absence of pure drinking water supply. They said the schemes will bring much respite to the people especially the women folk. Jasrotia said that water is life and hence there is a need to conserve forest cover so as to ensure the preservation of water sources. With the launch of Jal Jeevan Mission scheme in the state, he expressed hope that the people in the rural areas will be greatly benefited.Many more such projects are in pipeline and people should be made aware of all such developmental schemes aimed at helping them prosper. He said that opposition must rise above petty politics and stop instigating youth for their vested interests.
Jasrotia said that the Union Govt led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched a series of schemes for the common people across the nation. He said that these schemes cover every section of the society including the old age people who figure among the priorities of the government. While briefly making the people aware about various schemes, he asserted that the BJP workers and activists and workers are leaving no stone unturned in making the people aware about various schemes launched by the Govt besides highlighting its achievements. He appealed to the people to come forward and avail the benefit of the schemes best suited to them. Highlighting the achievements of the BJP Govt at the Centre, Jasrotia said that BJP believes in the overall development of every nook and corner of the nation and the people of this Union Territory can easily feel the difference with development works going on at unprecedented pace. He appealed to the people to strengthen the hands of PM for overall development, peace and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir.
