Acting Tough Against Drug Trafficking, Police Arrests Drug Peddler in Jammu

In a significant operation against drug trafficking, the District Police Jammu apprehended a drug peddler, identified as Umen, wife of Chaterhans, originally from Uttar Pradesh and presently residing in Channi Rama, Jammu. The arrest was made during patrolling in the Narwal area. The police recovered 1.9 kilograms of Ganja from her possession.
A case has been registered under FIR No. 16/2025 under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Trikuta Nagar. Further investigations are underway to trace the forward and backward linkages of the accused.
The operation was meticulously planned and executed by the Station House Officer (SHO) of Trikuta Nagar and the In-Charge Police Post (ICPP) Narwal, under the supervision of the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) City East and the Senior Police (SP) South.
During a briefing, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Jammu, reiterated the unwavering commitment of the Jammu Police to eradicate the menace of drug abuse from the district. Highlighting the importance of community involvement, the SSP urged citizens to actively participate in the fight against narcotics.
“We urge all citizens to join hands with the police in our anti-narcotics drive. Any information related to drug abuse or peddling can be shared on our helpline number 9541951100. The identity of informers will be kept strictly confidential,” the SSP assured.
