An Inter-School Quiz Competition under the theme “Bharat Ko Jano” was successfully organized today at Dogra Higher Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, Jammu, in collaboration with Bharat Vikas Parishad. The event aimed to promote awareness and knowledge about India’s rich cultural heritage, history, and values among students.
The program commenced with a Welcome Address by Mrs. Eisha Gupta, the anchor for the event. The beginning of the event was marked by the traditional Lamp Lighting Ceremony, graced by the Honorable Chief Guest, Dr. Lalit Magotra, President Dogri Sanstha and Retired Head of Physics and Computer Science Department, Jammu University, along with the Guests of Honour, Dr. Dev Raj Sharma, National Convenor for Environment and member of Bharat Vikas Parishad, and Kunwar Gambhir Dev Singh Charak, esteemed Managing Director of Dogra Hr. Sec. School, Shastri Nagar, Jammu.
In her opening address, the Principal emphasized the importance of quiz competitions in fostering intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and a spirit of inquiry among students. She also expressed gratitude to Bharat Vikas Parishad for their continued efforts in organizing such meaningful educational events.
Taking the charge to felicitate the Chief Guest and Guests of Honour was Mr. B.R. Sharma, a distinguished member of Bharat Vikas Parishad, who presented tokens of appreciation to the dignitaries for their invaluable contribution to the event.
The Honorable Chief Guest, Dr. Lalit Magotra, in his address, applauded the participants for their enthusiasm, knowledge, and competitive spirit. He also appreciated Bharat Vikas Parishad for their dedicated efforts in nurturing young minds and promoting patriotism among students.
Various schools from across Jammu participated in the quiz, showcasing their knowledge and intellectual abilities.
The quiz was conducted by Mr. Arun Sharma and Mr. J.S. Salathia, respected members of Bharat Vikas Parishad, who kept the participants engaged with challenging questions across diverse topics related to India’s history, culture, and current affairs.
In the Junior Category, Dogra Higher Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, Jammu, secured the First Prize, demonstrating exceptional knowledge and teamwork. In the Senior Category, Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, Jammu, emerged victorious, winning the First Prize with their outstanding performance.
All the winners and Participants were felicitated with trophies and certificates by the Chief Guest and the Guests of Honour, recognizing their excellence and hard work.
The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Mr. J.S. Salathia, a member of Bharat Vikas Parishad, who expressed gratitude to all the dignitaries, participants, and organizers for making the event a grand success.
The program concluded with the National Anthem, leaving students and guests with a sense of pride, unity, and accomplishment.
The arrangements for the function were meticulously made by the teachers under the guidance and supervision of Vice Principal of DHSS, Mrs. Gagandeep Bedi, ensuring the smooth execution of the event.
