In a significant step toward promoting sustainable employment and green energy, the Indian Army inaugurated an LED Assembly Workshop cum Factory in Rajouri on 13th September 2024. This initiative is part of the Youth Skill Development Project under Operation Sadhbhavna. It aims to provide meaningful job opportunities to the youth of the region while contributing to environmental sustainability.
This project is a joint effort between the Indian Army and the NGO, Career Trust Park. It focuses on creating employment opportunities by offering essential infrastructure and training to local youth. The initiative will empower more than 75 candidates by equipping them with the skills to assemble and package a variety of LED-based lighting solutions. These include LED bulbs, street lights, emergency lights, and floodlights.
The LED Assembly Workshop will provide 500 hours of skill development training, spread over a 90-day period. Each candidate will receive hands-on training, which is designed to prepare them for real-world industrial requirements. Upon successful completion of the program, participants will be awarded certifications that are recognized across India, enhancing their future employment prospects.
By creating these sustainable job avenues, the project not only helps combat unemployment in the region but also promotes eco-friendly lighting solutions. LED lights are more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly compared to traditional lighting, aligning with global efforts to combat climate change.
The Indian Army’s initiative, in collaboration with Career Trust Park, serves a dual purpose: providing the youth with employable skills and contributing to the peace, stability, and prosperity of Rajouri.
The training will motivate the youth to engage in constructive activities, helping to improve the socio-economic fabric of the region.
This workshop is part of the Indian Army’s broader efforts to foster development in conflict-prone areas under Operation Sadhbhavna, which focuses on winning the hearts and minds of the local population through welfare and development projects.
By providing local youth with a platform for growth and self-reliance, the Indian Army’s LED Assembly Workshop cum Factory marks a significant milestone in the region’s path toward economic empowerment and stability.
