NCC Cadets initiates Cleanliness Drive at L/Naik Mohinder Kumar Sharma’s statue

The NCC Unit of Dogra Degree College and Dogra Law College organized a visit & cleanliness drive at Ranjiri on the Statue of the Martyr L/Naik Mohinder Kumar Sharma here today.
NCC cadets from Bravo Company visited the adopted statue at Ranjiri and organized a special cleaning initiative. The NCC Unit also paid the floral tribute to the martyr who fought for our country and sacrifice his life for the motherland. This event was set to take place on 07th August at 11:00AM, showcasing the cadets’ commitment to community service and honoring the legacy of L/NAik Mohinder Kumar Sharma.
The Martyr Statue was inaugurated by Commanding Officer 19 Dogra on behalf Of Commanding Officer 16 Dogra Unit post his attaining martyrdom for the country in year 2000, in honor of the service and as a reminder of his contributions and the values he stood for.
The visit and cleaning initiative by NCC cadets not only helped maintain the statue but also foster a sense of responsibility and respect among the youth. The event commenced with a visit to the statue, where cadets, community members, and local leaders gathered to pay their respects and reflect on martyr influential life.
CTO/ANO Gulshan Sharma of the 4 J&K NCC Unit stated, “This initiative is an excellent opportunity for our cadets to engage in meaningful community service. By maintaining the statue, we honor the martyr legacy and instill the values of discipline and service in our cadets.
The cleaning activities included washing the statue, tidying up the surrounding area, and performing minor landscaping tasks. The cadets, equipped with cleaning supplies and tools, worked diligently to ensure the site remained clean and welcoming for all visitors.
Dr. Bela Thakur, Principal Dogra Degree College Congratulated the NCC unit of the college and appreciated their spirit to work for the society and nature. The whole program was conducted under the guidance of Gulshan Sharma CTO/ANO and the participation of 15 NCC Cadets “B COY” of the college.
