NEW DELHI, Apr 23
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath claimed on Tuesday that the Congress has in its election manifesto expressed its intention to implement the Sharia (a set of Islamic religious laws) in the country and usurp people’s properties only to distribute among themselves.
Addressing an election rally in Amroha, the CM said, “Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar ke samvidhan ko Congress ke log badalna chaahte hain aur saath hi janata ki sampati per kabza karke aapas mein bandarbant karna chaahte hai. Betiyon, beheno aur mataon ke gehne zabt karke aapas mein baantna chahte hai (The Congress wants to change the Constitution drafted by Babasaheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar. They also intend to forcibly acquire your properties only to distribute among themselves. Then they want to seize jewellery from our daughters, sisters and mothers to share with each other).” Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently made similar allegations during a rally in Rajasthan.
Adityanath reiterated his claims at an election meeting in Baghpat later in the afternoon.
“The history of the Congress and the Samajwadi Party leaders shows that they live for themselves and their families without caring for the poor and deprived people. With a false election manifesto, the Congress is trying to betray the country. But do not let them succeed in their game plan. They want to impose the Taliban regime in our country,” the CM said.
Hitting out at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Adityanath said, “Daadi ki tarah pota bhi tote ki tarah garibi hatao ka nara jap raha hai (Like his grandmother, the grandson is also parroting the slogan of removing poverty).
“Could the Congress remove poverty even as it ruled the country for 70 years? Their Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh once said that Muslims have the first right on resources of the country. If Muslims have the first right on the country’s resources, what will be left for so many Hindus? The Congress always played the politics of creating a rift on the basis of caste, creed and communal lines and in turn its leaders and their allies openly looted the country’s resources. Beware of these people and reject their candidates in the elections,” the Chief Minister added. He then cautioned the electorate that “a single vote to a wrong person will bring back the era of terrorism and free movement of criminals”.
“Your vote to those to whom a family (Gandhis) comes first will once again pose a threat to farmers and our daughters.
But the same vote for right people uprooted terrorism from Jammu and Kashmir with abrogation of Article 370. The same vote sent the mafia either to the prisons or to hell. Your vote can ensure the safety and security of your family,” he added. Adityanath claimed that now whenever there is a loud burst of firecrackers somewhere, Pakistan clarifies that it has no involvement. “Pakistan is afraid that even by mistake, a terrorist incident takes place in India and some innocent citizen is killed, they will have to face consequences,” he said. At the Amroha rally, Adityanath said the Congress fielded the sitting MP (Danish Ali) who refused to say “Bharat Mata ki jai” in Parliament. “Is this man worthy of your vote? Earlier, he looted the resources of the constituency by riding on the elephant (BSP symbol) and now he wants to do the same by siding with the hand claw (Congress symbol),” the CM alleged.
At a meeting in Baraut town of Baghpat district, the CM praised Charu Chaudhary, national chief of Rashtriya Lok Dal’s woman wing and wife of party president Jayant Chaudhary. “I praise her by my heart for her concise and content-driven speech,” he said.
The RLD, a BJP ally, is contesting the Baghpat and Nagina Lok Sabha constituencies as part of their seat-sharing agreement.
“This is the difference between the SP and the BJP ally RLD. When SP chief (Akhilesh Yadav) distributed tickets, he fielded his entire family in the elections. But I want to congratulate Jayant ji that he fielded a dedicated party worker Rajkumar Sangwan from the Baghpat seat from where (former PM) Chaudhary Charan Singh used to win,” Adityanath said.
