World Theatre Day, observed annually on March 27th, celebrates the cultural significance of theatre and its profound impact on society. It was first initiated by the International Theatre Institute in 1961 to promote awareness of the art form’s value and encourage international collaboration among theatre practitioners. Today, it serves as a platform to honour the rich heritage of theatre and its enduring relevance in an ever-changing world.
