Hindu communities around the world joyfully celebrated the historic opening of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, uniting in a display of devotion and cultural pride. In this regard, the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony garnered immense enthusiasm, bringing people from diverse corners of the RS Pura constituency together in shared festivities. A huge rally was organized by the management committee of Maa Durga Temple at Gagian in RS Pura in the evening.
The rally commenced from Durga Temple Gagian, passing through several villages, and culminated back at Durga Temple before returning to the starting point. During the rally, participants chanted slogans of ‘Jai Shree Ram’ and played songs in praise of Lord Rama. In the evening, the devotees organized a Maha-Aarti to mark the occasion. Visuals captured during the event showed devotees lined up on the roads, dancing, and holding flags inscribed with images of Lord Ram.
On this occasion, the Management of Temple Committee also honored kar sevaks, including Pehalwan Kundan Lal Sharma, Sunita Sharma, and Anita Sharma, who were part of the Ram Janma Bhoomi movement. The move to honor the kar sevaks is a small tribute that the committee can pay to them at this point in time.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman of Maa Durga Mandir Management Committee, Ex-Captain Kundan Lal Sharma, a participant in the rally, expressed happiness and described the event as significant for the Hindu community. He said, “You see the happiness. It’s because it took 500 years to finally see the construction of the temple.
There was a desire to build a Ram Mandir at the birthplace of Shree Ram, and it has been built after the decision of Ram Mandir and government support.
As we say, the Golden Temple for Sikhs is a special place for them, so now for Hindus, Ram Mandir became a place for Hindus.”
He added, “When asked about the excitement, I have never seen such excitement in my life, and I am filled with emotions. I feel like Shree Ram arrived at my house.” Capt. Kundan further emphasized the importance of remembering those who had made the dream of a Ram Mandir possible as a struggle of many years was reaching its conclusion.
