Sopore Police, in its unwavering commitment to eliminate the scourge of drugs from society, has been actively pursuing a series of measures to combat drug peddling within the Police district. The consistent and consecutive actions against drug offenders underscore the department’s determination to bring down drug-related activities to zero levels. In a recent operation, a vigilant police party, led by the Incharge of Police Post Fruit Mandi, intercepted a Maruti Swift Car bearing registration number JK01AU 3674 during routine naka checking at Reban. A comprehensive search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 112 capsules of SPASMOPROXYVON Plus and 11 bottles of Codeine Phosphate.
The two individuals found boarding the car, identified as Umer Rashid Shalla, son of Abdul Rashid Shalla, and Adnan Manzoor Antoo, son of Manzoor Ahmad Antoo, both residents of Sidiq Colony Sopore, were promptly arrested on the spot. Following their apprehension, a thorough preliminary investigation was conducted. Subsequently, a case has been registered under FIR No. 18/2024 u/s 8/21, 22, 29 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Sopore. The ongoing investigation seeks to delve deeper into the circumstances surrounding this drug-related incident, aiming to uncover additional details and potential connections.
