Seeking attention of the Govt to form a policy to revamp business of Jammu, the Apni Party Provincial President, Jammu, and Former Minister S. Manjit Singh today expressed deep concern over sinking business, tourism sector, transport and hotel business in Jammu.
As per a press release, Former Minister S. Manjit Singh chaired the joining program, which was organized by SC State President, Bodh Raj Bhagat.
On this occasion, Madhu Bhagat, a prominent social and political activist, joined the Apni Party in presence of Manjit Singh.
While welcoming her into the party fold, the Former Minister hoped that her joining would strengthen the Party at the grass root level.
In his address, Manjit Singh said that the joining of a prominent woman activist has shown that the people have faith in the Apni Party’s policy and its leadership that believes in telling the truth to the people without misleading them about their future.
“Our future belongs to India and the political parties advocating autonomy or self-rule shall tell the truth to the people that both these things cannot be achieved. J&K is an unshakeable part of India and hence, those making repeated attempts to emotionally exploit the people are not well wishers of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
He further said that the people should know that the Apni Party came into being when the other traditional political parties did not come forward following August 5, 2019.
“It was only the Apni Party that came to the front and struggled for the rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir who were left leaderless. The Party provided them with a leadership that had a strong base to win the confidence of the people by protecting land and jobs for the locals of J&K,” he said.
He said that the Central Govt had reserved class-4th jobs for the local youth and this decision was changed with the intervention of the Apni Party President, Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari sb in the matter to safeguard the interest of the unemployed youth of Jammu and Kashmir.
He said that “We do the politics of telling the truth to the people, unlike the traditional parties which bent upon dividing people on the name of region and religion.”
It was because of the divisive politics that the business, tourism and relations between two regions i.e., Jammu and Kashmir has worsened, he added.
He advocated promotion to the peaceful co-existence in the society for the unity of the country, and promotion of tourism and business in Jammu.
“The businessmen and hoteliers in Jammu have been passing through a tough phase and there is no one to listen to their grievances. The businessmen have come under huge debits, yet there is no policy from the Govt to give them relief or launch a policy for their welfare,” he said, while recalling how the direct train to Katra has affected the business in Jammu.
He demanded a policy from the Govt for the welfare of the Jammuities, transporters, hoteliers and businessmen.
