State Taxes Department conducts Enforcement drive at Railway station

Under the guidance of Commissioner State Taxes, Dr. Rashmi Singh and Additional Commissioner, Namrita Dogra, surprise inspection was carried out at Railway Station by Assistant Commissioner, Manpreet Kour under overall supervision of Deputy Commissioner Central, Ritu Mahajan. Different goods coming via rail route were checked and documents were verified.
Routine check-up at the Railway Station along with physical verification of goods by Enforcement Central Team led to increase of about Rs 12.35 lakh revenue during this FY.
Enforcement Central along with Railway authorities are working jointly to check tax evasion through railway route. Major Commodities coming by train are Readymade, Electronics, Industrial goods, Footwear, Spare Parts etc. Goods coming from train are also checked online by Data analytics team.
The Data analytics is used as an important tool for checking tax evasion online. Vehicles which are penalised many times are kept under surveillance and their nos. are circulated to field teams for further necessary actions.
Revenue realised by data analytics team amounts to Rs. 29.27 lakh, which includes revenue amounting to Rs. 15 lakh from convergence forum.
In addition to this the revenue generation for the month of December marked a tremendous increase i.e Rs. 28 lakh. Teams are working 24*7 on fields and extensively carrying enforcement activities.
