In a somber Executive Body Meeting, the Nami Dogri Sanstha (NDS) expressed profound grief and concern for the recent departure of eminent artists and writers, paying rich tributes to their invaluable contributions to society.
The meeting began with heartfelt condolences for the legendary Baakh singer, Krishna Kumari Ji, whose remarkable efforts were acknowledged for elevating Dogri Baakh to great heights globally.
The NDS Executive praised her legacy, recognizing the cultural significance she brought to Dogri music.
Renowned Dogri poet and writer, Prof. Shiv Dev Singh Manhas Ji, received posthumous accolades for his exceptional services in the field of Dogri literature.
Remembered as an adept Dogri teacher and writer, Prof. Manhas Ji’s contributions were lauded, underscoring his role in nurturing and promoting Dogri language and literature.
The untimely demise of the young and talented artist, Rohit Maratha Ji, left a void in the field of music, drawing expressions of concern and deep grief from the NDS Executive. Maratha’s creative contributions were acknowledged, and his passing was lamented as a significant setback in the world of music.
The meeting also reflected on the contributions of the late journalist, Rajesh Vidyarthi Ji, a devoted Dogri activist and well-known journalist. Vidyarthi Ji’s continuous coverage of Dogri language and culture pursuits was highlighted, portraying him as a passionate advocate and lover of his mother tongue and the Duggar culture.
The attendees of the peace and condolence meeting included prominent figures such as Prof. Anupama Sharma, Capt Lalit Sharma IFS, Advocate Dogra Harish Kaila, Yash Pal Yash, Sushil Bhola, Shambu Ram Pyasa, and Advocate Amit Gupta. The presence of these individuals underscored the collective mourning and shared appreciation for the lasting impact left by the departed artists and writers on the cultural landscape of Dogri language and literature.
