Policeman who sustained injuries after hit by a load-carrier in Srinagar succumbs

The policeman who had sustained critical injuries after being hit by a load carrier while performing his duty in the Rainawari area of Srinagar succumbed to his injuries.

While divulging information about the incident, a police officer said that on 13 December this month, a load carrier (JK01C-3906) hit a police head constable Iftikar Hussain (14/S) when he, as usual, was performing his duty at Zaind Shah Masjid Chowk in Rainawari.

The police constable was shifted to SKIMS shortly after sustaining injuries, where he died after spending ten days in the hospital.

Police in this regard registered an FIR vide number 69/2014 under relevant sections of law and arrested the erring driver.

The police official identified the accused driver as Showkat Ismail Langoo, Hassanabad Rainawari.

Meanwhile, a CCTV Footage of the incident has gone viral where one can see a load carrier knocking down a police officer while a lady had a miraculous escape.
