By March, 46 km of the ring road to be open for movement

The first 46 km stretch from Raya Mor to Bhalwal crossing in the Ring Road project will be started by the end of March next year. Divisional Commissioner Dr Raghav Langar visited the entire section of 46 km of the 58 km long Ring Road project and inspected work progress at various places.

The Divisional Commissioner visited several places, including the starting point of Ring Road, Raya Mor, Saroor, Bishnah, Miran Sahib, Madh, Kanachak, Bhalwal and inquired about the pace of construction work. He also listened to the local people’s land compensation problems and asked about the progress of disbursement of payment along with the pending land acquisition. In addition, the villagers of village Maralian raised the issue of drainage of water with the Divisional Commissioner, which he asked the concerned department to solve.

He asked the Director of Geology and Mining Department to provide adequate construction material to the executing agencies. The 58.25 km, four-lane ring road starts at Raya Mor of the Jammu-Pathankot National Highway in Samba district and connects to Jagti on the Jammu-Udhampur National Highway. During this, he was accompanied by District Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Samba and officers of the NHAI Department.
