Showing exemplary courage and becoming cause of inspiration and motivation for the youth of Pir Panchal belt of Poonch-Rajouri, two brothers of martyred soldier, Aurangzeb hailing from Mendhar on Monday joined Indian Army. Defence sources said that siblings Mohammad Shabir and Mohammad Tariq, brothers of martyred Army soldier, Aurangzeb, joined Indian Army in presence of top ranked Army officers during at a recruitment rally conducted at Rajouri. Army soldier, Aurangzeb was abducted and killed by terrorists in June, 2018 in Pulwama when he was going on leave to celebrate Eid with his family to his hometown in Mendhar tehsil of Poonch district. Aurangzeb’s father and mother were also present during the rally. 156 Infantry Battalion Territorial Army (Home & Hearth) PUNJAB, of the Indian Army conducted an enrolment parade of young recruits who have been enrolled in Territorial Army after a stringent recruitment process. Only 100 candidates were finally selected out of over 11,000 who participated in the recruitment rally conducted at Surankote ALG in the month of March 2019. Most of the recruits come from humble background. Six recruits are graduates, 76 are 12th standard pass while others are 10th standard pass, a Defence spokesman said. During a ceremony at Rajouri today, the young recruits gave a glimpse of their potential and talent. Major General, Paramdeep Singh Bajwa, General Officer Commanding, Counter Insurgency Force (Romeo) was the chief guest. He applauded the efforts of new recruits in putting up a grand show and congratulated the proud parents and village elders, who attended the function. Pertinently, Aurangzeb’s father, Mohammad Hanief, in February this year, also joined BJP amid the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Vijaypur tehsil of Samba district during a public rally. Hundreds of the boys of the area had bowed to join Army/ Security Forces and take revenge of the killing of Aurangzeb by the militants. The elders in the area have demanded conduct of special recruitment drive in Military and Para-military forces in the area for local youth.
