LC Chairman reviews arrangements for upcoming Budget session

SRINAGAR, MAY 19: Chairman, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council, Haji Anayat Ali today convened a meeting with the officers of Police and Civil Administration to discuss the arrangements put in place for forthcoming Budget session commencing from 25th of this month.
Threadbare discussions were held on different issues regarding security and other related matters.
SSP Security Civil Secretariat briefed the meeting about the security arrangements made in and around the Legislature Complex and areas used by the Legislators.
The Chairman asked the traffic department to ensure proper regulation of traffic on roads leading to Legislature Complex.
Haji Anayat instructed the Director State Motor Garage to provide adequate transport facilities for the officials of the Council Secretariat and Information Department during the entire session. He instructed the Municipal authorities to ensure cleanliness of Legislature Complex and its vicinity. He also directed the Estates Department to complete the repair and renovation works of Legislature complex well before the session and provide furniture for Committee Room and Meeting Hall.
The Chairman asked the Information Department for keeping close coordination between the Media and Legislature to ensure proper coverage of the proceedings of the Upper House.
Director Information and Public Relations, Muneer-ul-Islam informed the Chairman that necessary arrangements have been put in place for the coverage of proceedings of Upper House besides facilities to be provided to the print and electronic media to facilitate their entry in the legislature complex.
Later, the Chairman along with concerned officers inspected the Council Hall and directed the authorities to complete its renovation well before the session.
Among others, Secretary, Legislative Council, Abdul Majeed Bhat, Director, Estates Department, Dr G.N Itoo, Director, State Motor Garages, Zakir Chowdhary, SSP, Traffic Srinagar, Maqsood-ul-Zaman, SSP, Security Civil Secretariat, Shamsher Hussain, besides senior officers of the Council Secretariat were also present in the meeting.
