Kathua police has solved a theft case within 24 hours by arresting the accused and recovering the stolen money. Police said yesterday a complaint was lodged at Police Station, Lakhanpur by one Mehar Singh, S/O Lakha Singh of Tridwan tehsil and district Kathua in which he stated that someone has stolen Rs. 109750 from his house. On this complaint a case FIR No. 119/2020 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station, Lakhanpur and investigation was initiated During the course of investigation, a Police team led by Inspector, Sanjeev Singh Chib, SHO Lakhanpur was constituted and with strenuous efforts, credible information regarding burglar was generated. The team apprehended one person namely Ram Singh, S/O Thoru Ram of Dilwan tehsil and district Kathua. During sustained questioning accused confessed his involvement in theft and accepted that he had stolen the cash from the house of Mehar Singh. On his disclosure police recovered Rs 109750 in cash from Village Dilwan. The accused was arrested and lodged in lockup at Lakhanpur Police Station. Further investigation in the case is under progress.
