Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Mayor, Chander Mohan Gupta Tuesday visited the areas of Bahu Fort, Kalika Colony and other localities of Ward No. 48 and took stock of various developmental works there. Vikram Randhawa, MLC, Sham Lal, Councillor, Mohd Taj Choudhary, Executive Engineer (UEED), Anil Gupta, Assistant Executive Engineer JMC and other staff of engineering wing of JMC & UEED were also present during the visit. On this occasion the locals of the area and the concerned Councillor raised their demands before the Mayor. These demands included completion of work on the Nallah flowing through Kalika Colony which is being constructed by UEED well before rainy season and its proper de-silting in order to avoid any loss of property & human life as it creates havoc in rainy season. Installation of street lights en-route of Bahu Fort Temple was also demanded and the Mayor directed the X-En (UEED) to expedite the remaining construction work of the Kalika Colony Nallah on war footing in order to redress the long pending grievances of the inhabitants. The Mayor also inaugurated a Sulabh Shockalya under Swachh Bharat Mission near Shankar Market in Channi Himmat. He also laid foundation stone of another Sulabh Sochalaya in the parking area of Shivalya temple at Panjbaktar road.
