As a precautionary measures in the wake of Coronavirus threat, Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) conducted a fumigation drive at main campus of University of Kashmir here on Sunday. A statement said on the request of the varsity’s Registrar, Nisar A Mir, Commissioner SMC Gazanfar Ali deputed a special sanitation team which conducted sanitation, fumigation at several places in and around the campus. The team was provided with special equipment to protect themselves from infection while carrying out the sanitation job. During the drive awareness was given to the University staff about how to protect themselves from the novel Coronavirus. “Garbage collection points and dustbins were also sterilized and sanitized,” said the statement. The Registrar expressed gratitude to the SMC Commissioner and his team for carrying out fumigation drive at the campus and spreading awareness about personal hygiene amongst the University staff and faculty.
