Police have registered a case after a driver was killed when a transmission line fell on his truck in Gund Brath area of Sopore in north Kashmir on Monday. The conductor of the truck was injured in the incident while two other persons had a miraculous escape. A police official said the case has been registered (FIR No. 45/220) u/s 245, 308 under IPC sections of 285 (Negligent conduct with respect to fire or combustible matter) and 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder), at police station Sopore. The driver was killed when the HT line fell down on the truck in the morning. The deceased was identified as Waheed Ahmad Lone (35), son of Khazir Muhammad Lone while injured conductor was identified as Gulzar Ahmad Lone, son of Abdul Aziz Lone – both residents of Zaloora area of Sopore. The conductor is undergoing treatment at SDH Sub-District Hospital Sopore.
