DODA, May 4
A three-day training programme aimed at preparing Field Trainers for the upcoming Census 2027 commenced today at the VC Hall of the DC Office Complex in Doda. The initiative marks an important step in strengthening the groundwork for one of the country’s most significant administrative exercises, ensuring that field-level personnel are well-prepared to carry out their responsibilities with precision and efficiency.
The training programme has been designed to equip more than 500 Field Trainers from across the district with the necessary skills and knowledge required to train Enumerators and Supervisors. These personnel will play a crucial role during the House Listing and Housing Census phase, which forms the foundation of the overall census process. The programme focuses on building both technical competence and practical understanding to ensure accurate and reliable data collection.
The training is being conducted under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Krishan Lal, who is also serving as the Principal Census Officer for the district. Close supervision and coordination are being ensured by Additional Deputy Commissioner Anil Kumar Thakur, who is functioning as the District Census Officer, and Assistant Commissioner Revenue Ashraf Pervez, the Nodal Officer for the Census. Their involvement is aimed at ensuring the smooth execution of the programme and maintaining consistency in training standards.

During the sessions, experienced Master Trainers, including Dr. Akhter Hussain, Assistant Professor, and Ramesh Kumar, Senior Lecturer, are providing detailed guidance to the participants. The training covers essential aspects such as enumeration procedures, proper use of prescribed formats, and methods to maintain accuracy and consistency in data collection. Emphasis is also being laid on understanding the importance of each stage of the census process and the role of field staff in ensuring its success.
Participants are being encouraged to actively engage in discussions and clarify doubts to strengthen their understanding of the procedures. Practical demonstrations and interactive sessions are being conducted to help trainees gain hands-on experience, making them better prepared to train others at the next level.
The overall coordination and logistical arrangements of the programme are being managed by District Coordinator Vinay Kumar Singh from the District Census Office. The training programme is expected to significantly enhance the preparedness of field staff, thereby contributing to the efficient and successful conduct of Census 2027 in the district.
