Veteran artists, experts mentored students in live and studio-based sessions GCW Parade & GCW Gandhi Nagar students present self-devised acts

The Second Edition of the Summer Internship Programme (SIP 2025), organised by Rangyug Performing Arts Foundation, came to a meaningful conclusion today after 60 hours of intensive creative engagement.
The programme, specially designed for the students of GCW Parade Ground and PSPS GCW Gandhi Nagar, aimed to empower young women through the performing arts. It offered a wide array of sessions that nurtured expression, confidence, and artistic skills.
At the concluding ceremony, the students showcased a vibrant array of performances, including solo acts, group songs, and a specially devised theatrical performance, “Meri Awaaz”—all created during the internship. Their presentations mesmerised the audience and beautifully reflected their learning, creativity, and growth throughout the programme.
The Chief Guest on the occasion, Dr. Ravender Kumar Tickoo, Nodal Principal, All Colleges of Jammu Division, applauded the initiative and said that the enriching internship programme, initiated by Rangyug, has added a new dimension to student development. Facilitating this meaningful experience reflects our commitment to NEP 2020’s vision of holistic and multidisciplinary education. Rangyug’s creative leadership, professionalism, and dedication to empowering young minds through the arts have made a lasting impact. Such collaborations foster creativity, confidence, and practical exposure while enhancing real-world readiness among young women learners.
In his remarks, Deepak Kumar, Director, Rangyug, said, “This internship was about unlocking creative potential and nurturing discipline. Rangyug has always believed in the transformative power of the arts—not just for skill-building, but for self-realisation and social change. Our aim is to foster creativity, critical thinking, and leadership through theatre, music, dance, and cultural expression. The confidence and growth shown by these young learners is truly inspiring.”
Over the course of the internship, students engaged in a range of disciplines including theatre, music, dance, yoga, compering, lyrics, and studio production. From theatre games, diction and voice training to Kathak basics and hands-on music recording, the curriculum fostered self-expression, creativity, and collaborative learning.
Mentors who guided the participants through this journey included eminent names like Deepak Kumar, Ashutosh Sharma, Pankaj Pradhan, Vicky Gill, Parshottam Kumar, Madhvi Sharma, Mohit Sharma & party, S. Amarjeet Singh, Narinder Sharma, Dr. Priya Dutta, and Shivan Gupta, among others. The SIP programme was coordinated by Ashish Sharma. The participants themselves expressed their heartfelt appreciation. One student shared, “This internship helped me discover a new side of myself. I now feel more confident on stage and in life.” Another added, “Learning directly from professionals in real studio setups and performance spaces was a dream come true.” As a mark of their successful completion, certificates were distributed to all the students who participated in SIP 2025.
Rangyug remains dedicated to fostering community, culture and creativity through the performing arts, with SIP standing tall as one of its most impactful youth initiatives to date.
Among others, those present at the valedictory function included Pankaj Pradhan, S. Amarjeet Singh, Raj Kumar Behrupia, Dr. Rajesh Kant Dr. Randheer Kour, and faculty members from the Music and other departments of the college.
