Dr. Rohit Gupta, the Provincial Secretary of the Apni Party in Jammu, has vehemently criticized the authorities for their inability to address the pressing issue of the electricity crisis prevailing in Jammu, especially amidst harsh weather conditions. In a recent press release, Dr. Gupta expressed deep concern over the failure of the authorities to meet the increasing demand for electricity required for consumers in the region.
Highlighting the severity of the situation, Dr. Gupta emphasized that the persistent shortage of electricity has significantly disrupted normal life. The unscheduled power cuts, lasting for prolonged periods, have severely impacted day-to-day activities, including access to drinking water and conducting business operations.
In response to this crisis, Dr. Gupta has urged the authorities to explore and promote alternative energy sources, particularly solar energy. He believes that solar power could potentially address the electricity deficit and stressed the need for government initiatives to educate the public about its advantages.
Expressing disappointment, Dr. Gupta noted the apparent lack of sincere efforts by the concerned authorities to effectively implement solar energy projects in the region. He criticized the delay in providing solar projects to the people of Jammu, despite payments being made to the Jammu and Kashmir Energy Development Agency (JAKEDA) for several months.
Moreover, Dr. Gupta expressed dissatisfaction with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of JAKEDA, citing repeated excuses rather than taking proactive measures to address the issue. He emphasized that the Government of India has introduced these solar projects with subsidies for the benefit of the public, but the concerned department’s inefficiency is hindering their implementation.
Dr. Gupta raised concerns about the alleged excuses made by officials regarding insufficient funding from the Finance Department to initiate these crucial projects at the grassroots level. He warned that officials would be held accountable if the solar project’s full implementation fails to materialize in Jammu and Kashmir.
Dr. Rohit Gupta has strongly criticized the authorities for their failure to address the electricity crisis, urged the promotion of solar energy as an alternative source, and called for accountability in implementing these crucial projects for the welfare of the people in Jammu and Kashmir.
Dr. Rohit Gupta highlighted the wider ramifications of the electricity crisis in Jammu. He emphasized that beyond inconveniences to daily life and business operations, the persistent power shortages have had detrimental effects on various sectors, including healthcare, education, and overall economic stability.

Dr. Gupta stressed that the healthcare sector, in particular, has suffered significantly due to power outages, with hospitals and medical facilities facing challenges in providing uninterrupted medical care and services to patients. Additionally, educational institutions have struggled to maintain regular academic activities, impacting the learning and development of students.

Moreover, Dr. Gupta pointed out that the ongoing electricity crisis has hampered the growth of businesses and industries in the region, leading to financial losses and affecting employment opportunities for the local populace.

He urged the government to prioritize the implementation of solar energy projects not only as a solution to the immediate electricity crisis but also as a sustainable means to ensure uninterrupted power supply in the long term. Dr. Gupta emphasized the need for robust policies and effective execution strategies to harness solar energy’s potential for the benefit of the people in Jammu and Kashmir.

Furthermore, he called for greater transparency in the allocation of funds and resources for these projects, emphasizing that accountability and efficient utilization of funds are critical to the successful execution of solar energy initiatives.

Dr. Rohit Gupta reiterated his commitment to advocating for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, urging the concerned authorities to take immediate and concrete steps to resolve the electricity crisis and expedite the implementation of sustainable energy solutions like solar power.
