Chairperson District Development Council Udhampur Lal Chand today presided over the quarterly meeting of the Council to review the progress achieved under the District Capex Budget 2024-25, UT Component, Area Development Plan, PRI & DDC works, new projects, and other ongoing developmental initiatives being executed across different sectors in the district.
Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai; Additional District Development Commissioner, Rajinder Singh; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Prem Singh; PO Poshan Subash Dogra; Chief Planning Officer Mohd Iqbal and other senior officers attended the meeting.
At the outset, Chief Executive Officer DDC Rajinder Singh gave a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation, providing a detailed overview of the physical and financial achievements across all sectors.
The DDC Chairperson assessed the physical and financial progress achieved so far and sought details on block-wise status under ABDP, ADP and other projects. The Chairperson urged DDC members to personally monitor the pace and quality of ongoing works in their respective areas to ensure timely completion.
BDOs were instructed to clear pending bills and conduct field visits to inspect project execution on the ground.
The council was apprised of the action taken report on grievances raised in the previous council meeting.
Officers from concerned departments provided updates on the status of complaints related to their respective domains.
The DDC Chairperson emphasized that executing agencies must mobilize manpower and machinery at full capacity to ensure timely completion of development projects. He stressed the importance of accelerating the pace of ongoing works and ensuring that all projects sanctioned under the financial year 2024-25 are completed within stipulated timelines.
During the meeting, DDC members highlighted several key issues, including Provision of transformers and electricity poles in rural areas, Early completion of Jal Jeevan Mission projects, Repair and maintenance of roads, especially in far-flung areas, Installation of new solar lights and repair of existing ones, Addressing staff shortages in educational and health institutions, Repair and maintenance of PWD and PMGSY roads.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner thanked the DDC members and all participants for their contributions. She assured that all issues raised by the council members were duly noted and would be documented and minutes for further action.
The DC also informed the council about PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and the JK Samadhan Portal, urging members to disseminate information about these initiatives among the public.
