In recognition of extending high standard healthcare services to the ailing, Primary Health Centers of Sedow and Hermen of Shopian district received National Certification under National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) Programme.
The Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW) has accorded the National Certification to these PHCs for the quality of medicare they are ensuring to patients of the area.
The Department of Health & Medical Education, J&K, is striving hard towards ensuring that the people of the region get best healthcare services at their doorsteps.
Pertinently, the Certified Healthcare Facilities have been assessed by a team of highly qualified and empanelled National Assessors from the Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare in the month of October, 2023. Afterwards, these have been awarded as Quality Certified under NQAS of National Health Mission as communicated by the Additional Secretary & Mission Director, NHM, MoH&FW, in a letter addressed to the UT Government.
PHC Sedow and PHC Harmen shall receive an additional yearly annual grant of Rs.3.00 lakh each as part of NQAS certification for next three years under National Health Mission for further streamlining of the healthcare services.
Secretary, Health & Medical Education, Bhupinder Kumar, while congratulating the staff of the concerned certified hospitals for this achievement, exhorted upon all Medical Colleges, District Hospitals, CHCs and all Healthcare facilities of J&K to work for implementation of NQAS standards for improved patient care.
Elaborating on the achievement, Mission Director, NHM J&K, Babila Rakwal, said that the certification has been accorded to these facilities in recognition of the “High standards of quality and performance maintained by the hospitals”.
