CUJ students learned about Journalism during Industrial Trip

Department of Hindi and Other Indian Languages of Central University of Jammu students visited the office of Dainik Jagran located in Jammu city as part of their industrial visit. The visit aimed to provide a firsthand understanding of the dynamics within the media industry and offer students insights into the workings of a prominent newspaper publication.
With the inspiration of Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. Sanjeev jain, Head of the Hindi Department Prof. Bharat Bhushan, faculty, researchers and students participated in this industrial trip. During the visit, students had the opportunity to interact with seasoned journalists, editors, and other professionals at Dainik Jagran. They gained valuable insights into the editorial process, newsroom operations, and the technological advancements shaping contemporary journalism.
Anil Gakkad, editor-in-chief of the Dainik Jagran Jammu, welcomed everyone. Head of Department Prof. Bharat Bhushan honored Anil Gakkad by presenting him a memento on behalf of the university. Thereafter, Shri Gakkad gave information to the students about the basic elements of journalism and also told them about the practical aspect of journalism.
During the visit, he cleared every doubt of the students by presenting a practical presentation with machines regarding information collection for the newspaper, editing and publishing. He also boosted the enthusiasm of the students by giving accurate answers to many other questions.
The students expressed their gratitude for the enriching experience, citing it as a valuable supplement to their academic journey. Such initiatives align with the Central University of Jammu’s commitment to providing students with practical knowledge and industry exposure.
Faculty of the department Dr. Bijendra Kumar. Dr. Shashikant Mishra, Dr. Ratnesh Kumar Yadav, were also visited in the industrial trip.
