Dogra Degree College (Autonomous), organized its Investiture Ceremony 2026 with great enthusiasm and dignity in the College Auditorium. The ceremony marked the formal induction of the newly elected Student Council Members and Class Representatives, symbolizing the beginning of their leadership journey and commitment to responsible student governance.
The ceremony commenced with the traditional Lighting of the Lamp, symbolizing knowledge, wisdom, and enlightened leadership. The event witnessed the gracious presence of eminent dignitaries, including Dr. Bela Thakur, Principal, Dogra Degree College, Dr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary, Dogra Educational Trust, Sh. R. S. Katal, Member, Advisory Committee & Governing Body DGC, and Dr.Dharmveer Sharma, Dean DGC
In her welcome address, Dr. Bela Thakur congratulated the newly elected council members and urged them to uphold the core values of integrity, discipline, and service to the student community. She emphasized that leadership is not about authority alone, but about responsibility, accountability, and being role models for fellow students.
The newly elected Student Council President, ShagunBhagat, expressed gratitude to the college management and faculty for their trust and assured the gathering of her dedication towards strengthening student participation and creating a positive campus environment. Vice President, Umar Nawaz, elaborated on the responsibilities of the Student Council and highlighted the importance of teamwork, transparency, and inclusive decision-making.
A key highlight of the ceremony was the Distribution of Badges, wherein the dignitaries formally conferred badges upon the Student Council Members, symbolizing authority, trust, and accountability. This was followed by the Oath-Taking Ceremony, during which the student leaders pledged to uphold the values and dignity of the institution, abide by its rules, and work sincerely for the welfare of the student fraternity.
Addressing the students, Dr. Samar Dev Singh Charak motivated the newly inducted leaders to cultivate vision, discipline, and ethical leadership.
He encouraged them to become ambassadors of positive change and actively contribute to the holistic development of the institution. Mr. R. S. Katal emphasized that leadership at the college level lays the foundation for responsible citizenship and professional excellence in future life.
The event concluded with the Vote of Thanks and Closing Remarks by Mr. Balwant Singh, Programme Incharge, B.A. Department, followed by the National Anthem.
The Investiture Ceremony 2026 reflected Dogra Degree College’s unwavering commitment to nurturing leadership qualities, democratic values, teamwork, and social responsibility among students, in alignment with its vision of holistic education and academic excellence.
