JAMMU, Feb 13: A comprehensive Dental Check-Up Camp was successfully conducted at Rich Harvest School for students from Pre-Nursery to Grade 1, with the objective of promoting early oral health awareness and preventive dental care among young children. The initiative focused on instilling healthy dental habits at an early age to support long-term oral well-being.
The camp was led by a distinguished team of dental professionals, including Dr. Shatakshi Sharma, MDS, Founder and Dental Surgeon at Towndental; Dr. Pratyush Sharma, MDS, Founder and Dental Surgeon at Silverlining Dental Clinic; Dr. Ankita, MDS, Consultant Pediatric Dentist; Dr. Ria Uppal, BDS, Founder of RU by Dr. Ria; Dr. Vishali Sharma, BDS; and Ms. Rishu Kumari, Dental Assistant at Towndental.
During the camp, each child underwent a detailed oral screening to assess dental hygiene, cavity risks, alignment concerns, and overall oral health.
The dental team also educated students on correct brushing techniques, the importance of healthy eating habits, and the need for regular dental visits. These age-appropriate instructions were delivered in an interactive and child-friendly manner to encourage positive engagement and understanding.
Parents were provided with individualized feedback regarding their child’s oral health, along with recommendations for further treatment where necessary. The initiative emphasized the significance of early detection and preventive care in maintaining lifelong dental health.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Shatakshi Sharma highlighted the importance of early intervention, stating, “Instilling good oral hygiene habits at a young age is crucial. Through such school dental camps, we aim to create awareness and ensure children grow up with healthy smiles.”
Anita Bhatia, Head of the Institute, and Mrs. Ruchi Charak, Director of the School, expressed their sincere gratitude to the dental team for their valuable contribution to the health and well-being of the students.
