Atal Ji set benchmark for good governance in India: Col Mahan Singh

MAHANPUR, Dec 28
Col Mahan Singh (Retd.), DDC Chairman Kathua and senior BJP leader of Pahari Zila, today chaired a meeting at Mahanpur as part of the Atal Smriti Varsh Sammelans being organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party at the Assembly Constituency level.
The programme witnessed participation of hundreds of BJP workers from far-flung areas, reflecting strong enthusiasm and organisational strength.
Prominent BJP leaders present on the occasion included Rajinder Jaswal, General Secretary Pahari Zila; Rajeshwar “Lucky”, District Vice President; Narita Manhas, Mandal President Mahanpur; Sushma Karyal, Chander Prabha, Dharam Chand Malgotra, District President OBC Morcha; and veteran BJP leader Sham Singh Bhadwal. Addressing the gathering, Col Mahan Singh paid rich tributes to the legendary former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, recalling his statesmanship, integrity and inclusive vision for India. “Atal Ji was not only a great leader but a true democrat who believed in consensus, compassion and national unity. His model of governance continues to inspire the nation even today,” he said.
Col Mahan Singh further highlighted the relevance of good governance, which he described as the hallmark of Atal Ji’s leadership and the guiding principle of the present Narendra Modi Government. “The last eleven years under Prime Minister Modi have strengthened transparency, accountability, responsiveness and the rule of law. People’s participation and welfare have been placed at the centre of governance,” he stated.
He added that good governance ensures equal opportunities and fair distribution of resources to all sections of society, which in turn builds public trust in democratic institutions. “When governance is honest and people-centric, democracy becomes strong and meaningful,” he remarked.
The gathering observed a floral tribute to Atal Bihari Vajpayee, honouring his lasting contribution to the nation. The event concluded with a renewed commitment by party workers to uphold the values of good governance and national service.
